Psychotherapy is primarily a talk-based therapy and is intended to help people improve and maintain their mental health and well-being. Registered Psychotherapists (RPs) work with individuals, couples and families in one-on-one and group settings. Individuals usually seek psychotherapy when they have thoughts, feelings, moods and behaviours that are adversely affecting their they-to-day lives, relationships and the ability to enjoy life. Psychotherapy occurs when the therapist and client enter into a psychotherapeutic relationship where both work together to bring about positive change in the client’s thinking, feeling, behaviour and social functioning.
At Beverly Hills Wellness, our approach is both directive and non-directive. We work together collaboratively to find the most effective solution to your concerns. Our commonly used psychotherapeutic modalities include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy. At the core, we utilize Integrative Therapy which is a progressive form of psychotherapy that combines different therapeutic tools and approaches to fit the needs of our clients.

At Beverly Hills Wellness, our resident Psychotherapist offers a complimentary 30 minute introductory session. This session is intended for you to get to know one another and to determine if you are a good fit for working together. This is a time where you can ask questions you may have about psychotherapy. There is no obligation to book further sessions.
In a one-on-one session, you and the therapist will explore and process issues and concerns that may be troubling you. The sessions are conversational and at a pace that feels safe. The therapist will work with you towards identifying and meeting your short and/long-term goals. Our approach is client-centred which means a personal treatment plan is developed to address your unique challenges and goals.
Together with the therapist, you explore dynamics in your relationship and work towards your goals, which may include: to improve communication, resolve conflicts, develop closeness, improve intimacy and commitment, deal with trust or infidelity issues, or decide on the future of your relationship.
